LinkedIn for companies

As a company, you can create your own company page and share interesting news or specialist topics from your own industry with those around you. Individual users can follow the pages here directly without having to send a request in advance (as is the case with normal user profiles) and thus receive all the latest news directly. First and foremost, by regularly sharing content, this offers companies the opportunity to build greater long-term visibility as employers as well as awareness and reputation as a company in the industry in order to attract new customers. Furthermore, you receive notifications about the interaction with the shared posts, which provide conclusions about important topics for customers, interested parties and (potential) employees. In addition, the application process is a big point: Many users get a first impression of the company through the company profiles and then decide whether they want to apply. Companies can advertise jobs on LinkedIn itself, which are then directly suggested to suitable candidates. These can then be easily contacted. Candidate management tools also allow them to be filtered, tagged and shared with their own team – all in one place.

How to create a company profile in the business network

A company page is created using the “Create Company Profile” button under the apps on the homepage. Next, you select the company size (under 200 employees, over 200 employees, focus page, or educational institution) and enter the official company name. Additional information such as the LinkedIn URL and your website needs to be provided. Then, the basic company information is filled out via a dropdown menu. In the profile details, the logo is uploaded, and the company slogan with a short description is entered. A helpful feature is that LinkedIn shows a small page preview next to the input field. After confirming that you are acting as an authorized representative of the company, the “Create Page” button follows. In the next steps, additional information such as a description, locations, specialties (e.g., social media), etc., can be added. The description should explain the company’s activities and products and ideally provide reasons why potential followers should be interested in the page. This description can be written in over twenty different languages, which is particularly useful if you have international clients or want to attract new ones. Hashtags should also be added, as they will direct potential followers to the profile later. Finally, the page is published by clicking the “Publish” button and is then accessible to all users.
